Looking back to the story of the turtle winning the race. Sometimes slow and methodical ends up being the best thing in life. In Today’s time we like to always think about the now and getting more money in the bank. Which is important but it isn’t the whole pie.
You have to think long term, and oftentimes acquiring wealth is a longer than expected adventure. Longer wealth growth is also safer in some instances because you have time to overcome downturns.
Have a Plan
The first thing that you need to build wealth is a plan. Some people’s plan is to play the lottery everyday, and eventually they will win. My plan is to work a full time job and a few side hustles to build wealth.
Your plan only needs to make sense to you. Once you have Plan A start thinking of plan B, C and D. Backups need to be finalized as anything can happen. A Sustainable plan is going to take time to start seeing profits and that’s ok. As long as you know what direction you are heading in.
Get Rich Quick is a Lie
We have all heard of the get rich quick schemes. And they are for the most part a lie. There is no such thing as getting rich quick. If you get a lot of money without having the right mindset you will eventually lose it all.
Many of the lottery winners end up losing the money that they won. And I don’t want this to be you if you win a lottery or gain an inheritance. So with this information you are going to have your blinders on for anybody that can promise wealth virtually overnight. Not saying it’s impossible. But it’s not going to be a part of the plan.
Start Now
Like some of the other blogs that I have written, what you have right now on your side is time. Time to use the power of compound interests. Or time to stumble a few times before you succeed. If you wait for the perfect moment to start you will be waiting forever.
The best time to start is right now. Make small progress each day if you can, just as long as you continue to move forward. When you have your plan, and it tells you that you are going to double your income in 5 years. Take today to start meeting those 1 month goals and they will add up over time.
Rob’s Opinion
I try to promote things that can be sustainable over the length of time. And sustainable doesn’t just mean constant money over time. But it means that I can afford the amount of time each day to get the money over time.
There are always going to be people who get stuck in quick money schemes and that’s ok. They will eventually learn that it doesn’t work. But you may ask yourself why I have an entire section dedicated to quick money ideas.
Well I like to play both sides. If you are betting on both sides, then you won’t lose. I try to do this in order to draw them in so I can show them that what they are doing isn’t sustainable over the long time. Because I was once a get rich quick guy. But I’m glad someone pulled me out of the water before I drowned.
