If you are wanting to travel the globe and get paid to do it then stick around because I am going to tell you the different ways you can make money while being a travel blogger.
I personally am not a travel blogger, but I do document my travels on my YouTube, so I guess you can call me a travel vlogger. But without further ado here we go.
Place Ads on Your Site
This is by far the best way to earn income while travel blogging. Since you will already be writing content from your travels people will already be looking for these types of posts.
The more people that view your posts the more ad revenue you will generate which will keep the dream alive of you getting paid to travel the world.
The most common ad network that people use is Google Adsense. So start with them and branch off to more specific sites later.
Use Affiliate Links
There are tons of Affiliate Marketing sites that you can join. What they do is give you specific links to promote on your site. And when someone makes a purchase using your link you get paid a commission.
This is a great way to earn money while traveling because all you have to do is set it up one time and it will keep earning you money for as long as the link and the post are active.
A Lot of bloggers use this as a way to generate extra income on top of regular ads being on their site.
Write Sponsored Posts
If you are very talented in writing then this path will be a piece of cake for you. Brands will contact bloggers to write a post specifically for something that they are selling. So instead of you just writing about your travels to Paris. A hotel brand would contact you and ask you to write about your stay at their hotel in Paris.
This is quick money because they are paying you for something that you were already going to be doing in the first place. If you are in contact with enough brands then you will have extra income from those sponsored posts.
Monetize your YouTube Page
This one is a fairly easy concept to grasp. Millions of people have put billions of videos on YouTube to date. The top earners on YouTube earn over 8 figures a year. In order to get your YouTube page monetized you need 1000 subscribers and over 4000 watch hours to sign up for their ad program. So start recording those travels and you will be making money in no time. (My tip start with cruise vlogs)
Be an Expert on Travel
If you have a lot of experience in traveling, or have the inside scoop to some of the best travel destinations then you could be considered a travel expert. When you are an expert in something some people will pay a premium to tap into that knowledge of their next vacation.
A Lot of influencers gain a huge following from passing along tips to their viewers. So start sharing some of that insider knowledge about places that you visit often and you will find yourself making money in no time.
Work as a VA (Virtual Assistant) for other blogs
You are still working but this time it’s virtually. This will allow you to work from anywhere in the world. Upwork and Fiverr are two sites that come to mind when thinking about being a VA.
Your job can pertain from checking emails to setting up meetings for your client. The pay can also vary depending on what type of skills you have to offer.
Sell your Photos
Some people have an eye for great quality pictures. In today’s society you more than likely have a high quality camera in your pocket. So start taking pictures of things you think are beautiful or eye-catching.
There are alot of sites out there where you can post your pictures for other users to download. Over time you will iron out your craft, and people might start to take notice. Some of the other sites will pay you when someone uses your photo. The other option I would say is to start a blog and use your pictures specifically for your blog.
Monetize Your Podcast
If you have a lot to share and feel like people would listen, maybe you should start a podcast. This is great for people who love to talk about various topics, and a lot of times you could post your podcast on various sites to maximize your audience.
Sponsors pay for ad spots on your podcast and you get to decide what the price of this space is worth. Easy money for something as simple as setting up a microphone and speaking your mind. This job also has no walls which means you can do it from anywhere in the world.
