If you are reading this it’s too late, jk. But if you are reading this then you are probably not a part of the 1%. And if you are, let me hold a few dollars. The 1% is a group of people who are the top earners in their city, county, state, and country. They collectively have more money than the bottom 99%.
So I am going to tell you what they are doing in their day to day life that could help you creep into their tax bracket. Or at the very least, make small lifestyle changes that will benefit you overall.
Don’t Sleep
Now some people say that you should not sleep 8 hours a day because that is a third of your life gone. However, I for one enjoy sleep and I try to get 6 to 7 hours of it a day. But if you are sleeping most of the day away, literally. Then you might want to change that sleep pattern to give you more time focusing on your next big idea.
On the flip side if you sleep too little you won’t be at your best when you need to perform the most. Whether that’s at work in a meeting, or at home working on your side hustle. Your brain and body need sleep in order to function at 100%.
Perfection
You need to expect perfection in everything you do. If your standards are high eventually people will start to rise to the occasion to meet those standards. But this is even more important when you are focusing on yourself.
Everything you do should be done to perfection, or at least as close as you can get it. This will not only force you to do things well, but it will change the way you think. You won’t cut corners and half do things. When the smaller things start to change it’s only a matter of time before the larger things start being done to perfection.
Efficiency
Perfection and efficiency are like cousins, you can have one without the other. But if you bring them both together then you can really stir up some trouble. Most people aren’t efficient with what they do. That lack of efficiency costs something. Money, Time, Friendships, the list goes on and on.
But you wanting to join this 1% will find ways to be more efficient each and every day. In everything, even small tasks. Driving, Work, Cooking these tasks will give you more time to do other things, or will make you much better at them that you can use to your advantage in the future.
Never Forget Where You Came From
This is a big one when people become ultra rich they often give most of their money away. Charitable donations go a long way with your taxes. But they will also make sure you leave your mark on the world.
Giving back to your community that you grew up in will help plant the seed for someone else to do the same or even better thing than what you did. A Lot of times we forget that we have people coming behind us in life and we end up making them reinvent the wheel. Even when they don’t have to.
Rob’s Opinion
Truly there is no one right way to get into the 1%. But we can all do better at our day to day lives to improve ourselves. And who knows maybe we will come up with that next great idea, or have rich parents. Whichever will come first.
If you are looking to make a quick buck there are thousands of ways to do it. But the most important thing is that you build something sustainable that will pay you for the rest of your life. To be put years ahead of everyone else, head over to my Wealth Building Playlist to find out how.
