Summer is approaching and instead of sitting around doing nothing, you may be thinking about getting a little summer job that will put some money in your pocket. So upon request I have compiled a short list of some of the Best jobs you can have while in the summer.
Use this list as a starter for your search. The best way to find a job is to talk to people. Start with your parents, ask them what they suggest you do. If you are interested in any of these jobs, search some local openings online.
Lifeguard
This job here is going to take some skill to get into, but once you get into it you will make good money for a while. There are a lot of pools out there. Find the pools that have lifeguards and ask them how to become one. There are usually tests that you have to pass in order to be considered.
Camp Counselor
During the summer when the kids are out of school most summer camps have to house them. Those camps need people to run them. They often look for High School or College Aged people to hire in order to help run the programs during the day.
Landscaping
For this one you will need some tools such as a lawnmower. Go around and ask your neighbors if you can cut their grass for a fee. It will really help out if your neighbor’s yard is starting to look wild. You can also join a company that cuts the grass around your neighborhood.
Summer Internship
In your field you can find jobs that will be hiring for internships during the summer. Make sure these jobs are paid. You don’t want to be working for free for anybody. These jobs will accomplish two things, the first being you get paid to work in your field. The second being you get the experience needed to land the full time job later on.
Babysitter
This one is pretty self explanatory, if you are good with kids and want to make some extra money. Find some families or couples that need a babysitter. This is one of the easiest ways to earn a check. It will be even better since it’s the summer they might need consistent care.
Movie Theater
Movie theaters are usually packed during the summer because everyone has more time on their hands. Check with your local theaters to see if they are hiring. The perk of working here is that you get to see the new movies when they come out.
Tutor
If you think that you are smarter than the average, you can get paid to tutor kids younger than you. Even if you don’t think you are smart enough. Talk to teachers and friends to find out who might need the extra help during this summer.
